Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain On Saturday Morning, Better Weather Starts Sunday For CT
While thunderstorms and more heavy rain are forecast for Connecticut, there is some much-needed good weather news in our future.
CONNECTICUT — We're way past overdue for a beautiful, sunny weekend. Sadly, we'll have to wait until next weekend, but the news isn't all bad.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are once again forecast late Friday and early Saturday morning, and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon hours on Saturday. A bulk of the rain and potential storms are forecast to largely end early Saturday morning, and it may be dry for most of the remainder of the day, though some more storms and showers are possible in the afternoon hours.
Sunday does look better as sunshine is forecast and temperatures in the upper 60s.

Timeline of rain, storms on Saturday
"The heaviest rain rolls through in the pre-dawn hours Saturday," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Downpours and thunderstorms will make travel difficult tonight, leading to ponding on the roadways and reduced visibility."

"Tomorrow is a *First Alert Weather Day*… while we’re not expecting a washout, flooding concerns or severe weather, rain and storms could impact outdoor plans," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "With the heaviest rain arriving overnight, everything will be soaked by dawn. This means things like sports fields will be saturated, perhaps delaying or canceling morning events. By mid to late morning (and through the early afternoon hours) we’ll likely get a break with drier weather and partial clearing. Then, as a cold front arrives by the early evening hours, there is a chance for more isolated showers to move through the state with perhaps a thunderstorm or 2." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
Good weather news is coming soon
Sunday through next Thursday looks sunny and warmer as the week progresses, with daytime high temperatures into the 80s by Tuesday.
