Houston reported to police she realized the child had taken a bite and forced the child to vomit. She then contacted a male and asked that he meet her in a commuter parking lot, the warrant shows.
The man told police he asked Houston multiple times what was wrong, and she appeared reluctant to tell him, according to the warrant. He told police Houston eventually told him the child had consumed part of a 1,000 milligram edible. The child appeared to be in a “lethargic, dazed and confused” state, and he told Houston the toddler needed medical attention. He said Houston cited concerns about DCF involvement, according to the warrant.
The man then took the child to the hospital himself for treatment, and the child was released on April 18 and is in good health, police said.
Houston appeared in Superior Court in Norwich on May 15, and her case was continued to June 25, according to the state Judicial Branch website.
