Man, 82, Critically Injured After Wooden Beam Falls On Him: Plainfield Police
Emergency crews responded to the American Legion on Saturday.

PLAINFIELD, CT — An 82-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital after a wooden beam fell and struck him on the top of the head, police said.
At 9:28 a.m. Saturday, police officers along with members of the American Legion Ambulance responded to the American Legion at 66 Prospect Street for an 82-year-old man, who sustained serious injuries, police said.
"Through investigation it was determined the male was attempting to clean out the garage when a wooden beam fell and struck him on the top of the head," police said. "The male was transported by American Legion Ambulance to Plainfield Backus Emergency Care in critical condition. There is no criminal aspect to this investigation."
