Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Lisbon Crash: Police Seek Witnesses

Life Star helicopter rushed the victim to Hartford Hospital, according to state police.

LISBON, CT — A 28-year-old Norwich man suffered serious injuries Tuesday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle on River Road, according to state police.

The accident happened Tuesday at 11:03 a.m., according to state police.

A Nissan Rogue, operated by a 36-year-old Norwich woman, was northbound on River Road and started to turn left into the parking lot of a service station, police said.

An initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle attempted to pass the turning vehicle on the left and collided with it as it was turning, state police said.

The motorcycle rider was thrown and collided with a parked vehicle, and the motorcycle collided with three parked vehicles, a police report shows. All of the parked vehicles were unoccupied.

The motorcycle rider was rushed via Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

The driver of the Rogue and a passenger, a 36-year-old New London man, were transported to Backus Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

State police said the investigation into the accident is active and ongoing.
