Some areas of Connecticut have experienced rain showers already this morning, but the “main round of rain and wind will ramp up through the afternoon and evening hours.” according to WFSB.
“We expect the peak, or worst, to come throughout the evening,” WFSB reports. “While Hurricane Melissa won’t directly impact CT, some moisture from it will be drawn in our direction, enhancing the potential for heavier rain as it interacts with this area of low pressure.”
The National Weather Service is forecasting possible thunderstorms in Connecticut overnight.
By Friday morning, WFSB also predicts Connecticut will get between one and two inches of rain, with some locally higher amounts.
There could be minor coastal flooding around high tide this evening, and there is a coastal flood advisory in effect for southern Fairfield County between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to WFSB.
