Auditions Announced for 'Plaza Suite' by Playhouse 44
Plaza Suite by Neil Simon will be performed Friday, January 17, Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19 in Avon High School auditorium.

Plaza Suite by Neil Simon will be performed Friday, January 17, Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19 in Avon High School's state-of-the-art auditorium. Rehearsals will be in November, December, and early January.
Auditions will be held Monday, October 14, Tuesday, October 15, with call-backs Wednesday October 17 if necessary. Each of the three Acts will have separate casts and will be directed by a different director. I will be directing Act Two!

Plaza Suite comprises three interconnected one-act plays, all taking place in the same elegant suite at the New York Plaza Hotel. The time is the late 60s. Each one-act -- "Visitor from Mamaroneck," "Visitor from Hollywood," and "Visitor from Forest Hills" -- primarily concerns a man and a woman (general age range 40s through 50s) comically dealing with personal, marital, romantic, or family situations. There are a few supporting roles for men and women in the 20s or older.
WHERE: The Yoga Shop of Avon, Riverdale Farms, 136 Simsbury Road, Avon, Building 4, 2nd floor.
WHEN: Monday, October 14 and Tuesday October 15. 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Please select either day and arrive anytime between 7:15 and 9:15. We will see people in or order of appearance but we might want you to read a second time with another actor. Please be prepared for a short to moderate wait
WHO: Anyone - Experienced, novice, and newcomers.
WHAT ELSE: Sides will be provided. Please bring a resume.

Playhouse 44, a 501(c)3, offers residents of Avon and the Farmington Valley cultural events that are enjoyable, engaging, responsible, and affordable. Our first successful production, a series of short plays called 9 Tens on 44, debuted at Avon High School in August. Our second event, an evening of acoustic guitar music by local singer-songwriters, was held at Raymour & Flanigan and was very well-received. A night of storytelling at the Avon Congregational Church in October will be held in October.
Plaza Suite will be our second theatrical production. We'd love to have you be part of the fun!
