Avon Company Hosting Document Shredding Event

AVON, CT — Mid-April is a good time of year for spring cleaning and part of that is unloading unnecessary personal documents that might have some potentially harmful personal data.

But to do that safely, so as to protect yourself against identity theft, it's best to shred them.

Which is why Connecticut-based Couzens, Domingos, Allen & Associates — a financial services firm with offices throughout the area — has made Saturday, April 15, "Shred It Day."

The premise is simple, folks just show up at one of four sites — including one in Avon — and they can have their documents shredded.

The events are from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. that day.

Avon's "Shred It" location is at the company's office at 20 Tower Lane, hosted by financial advisor Steven Hahn and ENE Realty Associates LLC.

There is no cost to have your documents shredded.
