• Avon's Bravest Celebrate Its Members' Dedication At Awards Ceremony (patch.com) — Avon residents can see how their volunteer firefighters were recently recognized for outstanding service, training, and call response at the department’s annual awards dinner. Dozens of AVFD members received honors for community partnership, years of dedication, and behind-the-scenes contributions that keep the town’s fire protection strong. The department also invites interested Avon neighbors to learn more or stop by Company 1 on Monday evenings.
   

• Avon rallies to beat Stafford in season opener (collinsvillepress.com) — Avon High’s boys basketball team opened its season with a thrilling 52–50 home win over Stafford, capped by Jude Turner’s late steal and go-ahead layup. Leo Indomenico posted a double-double, and the Falcons now look ahead to a Saturday road game at Suffield.
