Avon Farm Organizing Turkey Drive To Feed The Needy

AVON, CT — An Avon farm is, once again, looking to help the needy this Thanksgiving, and it is asking the community to help them help others.

Miller Farms Cares, the nonprofit side of Miller Foods in Avon, is in its third year of providing thousands of meals at Thanksgiving to residents in Connecticut.

As part of that goal, it is asking folks to donate funds to Miller Farms so it can provide turkeys to CT Foodshare, a state food bank that helps municipal food banks throughout Connecticut.

This year, all turkeys donated through Miller Farms Cares' "Thankful Turkey" program will be donated to CT Foodshare, state food banks, and local food pantries.

Every dollar donated goes to the cause of feeding those in need by purchasing a turkey and donating it to families through Connecticut Foodshare and local food banks.

The Miller family and its volunteers/supporters ask everyone who can to “be a gobbler” and join in by donating today at www.millerfarms.us.

It is also urging companies with a corporate giving match program to choose Miller Farms Cares to increase their donations to the "Thankful Turkey" program.

This year is the 75th anniversary of Miller Foods, with its fourth generation running the company.

Miller Farms Cares began in 2020 to raise money for families in need by donating turkeys to ensure they can enjoy a warm holiday meal.

Since its beginning, over 300,000 people have enjoyed a Thankful Turkey either bought or donated through Miller Farms Cares.
