Avon FD Hosting Life-Saving Blood Drive

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a blood drive at one of its firehouses on Friday, April 18, Good Friday.

AVON, CT — Local firefighters are hosting a blood drive Friday, April 18, to perhaps help save a life.

It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Avon Volunteer Fire Department's Co. 1 fire station located at 25 Darling Drive.

"For members of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department, saving lives comes with the territory and opportunities to help people arise every day," wrote the AVFD.

"Luckily, they aren’t the only people who can save lives – by donating a pint of blood to the American Red Cross, just about anyone can help. And, a single pint of blood can save up to three lives."
