Happy New Year Avon, Now Pay Your Taxes

AVON, CT — If you bought a new vehicle after Oct. 1, 2024, and before Oct. 1, 2025, there's some tax business you have to tend to this week in Avon.

According to the Town of Avon, the new car tax is pro-rated from the month the vehicle was purchased through Sept. 30, 2025.

Those tax bills were mailed out, and they're due to the town's tax collector Jan. 1, 2026, though taxpayers have until Feb. 2 to pay to avoid any late penalties.

That is also the case for those paying their real estate taxes on installments, as the second installment is also due Jan. 1, 2026, with payments needed by Feb. 2, 2026, to avoid late fees.

Taxpayers can pay their taxes online via www.avonct.gov/collector-of-revenue.
