Fall arrives at The Avon Free Public Library and excitement fills the air as book lovers anticipate the Library’s Annual Used Book Sale. Adults: Oct. 18-20; Kids and Teens, Oct. 26. Funds raised from these Book Sales benefit numerous programs at the Library. (see details below) We thank the many donors throughout Avon and neighboring towns who have donated many book to the Library for these Book Sales. The Library is located at 281 Country Club Road, Avon, CT 06001

Sponsored by the Friends of The Avon Free Public Library, the Book Sales are held in the Library’s Community Room, (1st floor) which is filled with tables of books ranging from history and biography to vintage books, crafts, cooking and many novels.

At the Kids & Teens Book Sale, children eagerly chose books that appeal to their interests in nature, adventure and timely books on Halloween and the upcoming Holidays. The library is clearly a favorite destination for children and adults alike.

Back by popular demand, the Kids and Teens Book Sale provides a spacious reading nook for children and families to gather to read books together while other family members continue their book searches. Inviting fluffy rugs and child-sized reading cushions are a popular draw!

The efforts of the Friends of the Avon Free Public Library to produce Book Sales like these will raise funds for the library to offer programs not funded by the Library budget and enable the expansion of Library programs. These programs include: Adult Programs ranging from book author events, classical art and films to history and biography; Teen programs; Children’s featured programs such as special reading programs, crafts programs, cultural programs, the summer “Wonderous Wednesdays” program and the Annual Ice Cream Social. Also funded is a series of Sundays at Three, free Afternoon Winter Music Programs for adults and some children.
