Outdoor enthusiasts excited to dust off their hiking shoes for some spring exploration now have access to a trusty walk book to guide them, courtesy of the Avon Land Trust. Authored by board member Jeff Grindrod, and designed by Deirdre Tindall of Tin-Dall Creative Marketing, the environmentally friendly e-book features full-color maps and images of Avon’s eighteen Land Trust, Town, and State hiking trails, and is available to all Avon Land Trust members.
Looking for new trails to explore? Not sure where to find trailheads or parking areas? No problem! The new Avon Land Trust Walkbook provides complete information on trail locations, parking areas, hiking loop options with distances and terrain descriptions noted, trail features and history, and detailed, easy-to-follow maps.
All members of the Avon Land Trust will automatically receive an e-copy of the new Avon Walkbook via email. If you are a current member or if/when you join the land trust through our website (www.avonlandtrust.org), a copy will be emailed to you when you make your electronic dues payment. If you prefer to make your donation via check, simply include your email address in the subject line and your e-book will be emailed to you promptly.

“We are fortunate to have some spectacular trails and natural parks here in Avon, and the land trust is proud to have played a part in preserving and maintaining these spaces,” remarked Avon Land Trust Co-President Rick Dubiel at the unveiling of the new walkbook. “Now, our members will have an easy way to find and explore these spaces. We’re excited to see everyone out hiking soon.”
