Avon Land Trust Seeks Help Preserving Its Properties

AVON, CT — A local land preservation organization dedicated to ensuring acres of pastoral property stay that way is asking for volunteers to continue to make it happen.

The Avon Land Trust issued a call for help on Wednesday, June 23, saying it needs volunteers to help maintain 350 acres of open space it oversees throughout town.

Trust officials said they, especially, need help:

• Clearing invasive plants from trails and forests.

• Leading organized hikes or assisting with them.

• Writing materials on behalf of the organization.

• Photographing or making videos for the trust.

• Legal services regarding the acquisition of new land.
