Avon Mulls New Building For School District Offices
The Town of Avon is looking into purchasing a new site to relocate the town's board of education central offices.

AVON, CT — The town is mulling a proposal to purchase a building on Fisher Drive that will become the new headquarters for the Avon Board of Education.
At a special meeting on Sept. 11, the Avon Town Council received a presentation on the details of the proposed acquisition of the building located at 200 Fisher Drive.

The plan is to relocate the school district's central office there from its current located at 34 Simsbury Road.

The Avon Board of Finance is expected to receive a similar presentation at its Monday, Sept. 23, meeting.
Subsequent meetings of the council and finance board in October and November will include updates on the proposal and opportunities for comments and questions from the public.
Ultimately, the proposal will be subject to approval at a special town meeting which is expected to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at Avon High School.
