Avon PD Warns Seniors To Watch Out For Scams
Avon police said there are many scams out there that prey on the elderly.
AVON, CT — Local police are warning senior citizens, their family members, and their caretakers that there are a lot of scams out there targeting the elderly.
Thursday, the Avon Police Department posted a special information sheet by the Connecticut Intelligence Center, which is part of the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, about senior citizens and scams that target them.
"Please review this Informational Message from the Connecticut Intelligence Center," wrote the APD.

"There are numerous different scams targeting our older population. Learn about them and how to keep yourself safe from falling victim."
The APD said if anyone feels like a phone call or email is sketchy or weird, they should trust their instincts and call us.
