Avon officials do have some donation guidelines for animal food, especially with bears in the area.
The animal control department asks people to drop off donations Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to prevent bears from discovering the bin.
The pantry is relatively new in town, as it opened in December 2023.
