Avon Public Library Hosts Book Talk
On Apr. 5, 2 pm, Estelle Kafer, executive director of the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford will give a book talk on Hartford.

From JHSGH: On Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm, Estelle Kafer, executive director of the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford will give a book talk on Jewish Community of Hartford, the Society’s newest publication.

Part of Arcadia Publishing’s Images of America series, Jewish Community of Hartford is a pictorial history that features the people, organizations and institutions that helped shape this remarkable community. Highlights include interesting facts about notables such as Sophie Tucker, Norman Lear, Sol LeWitt, and Kid Kaplan. The book’s archival images and captions were compiled by the Society staff and volunteers.
The book will be available to purchase at the program. No registration required, all are welcome. Program will be held in the Community Room at the Avon Public Library, 281 Country Club Road, Avon CT, 860-673-9712.
