Avon Road Closed After Tree Takes Down Wires

It is not known when the busy state roadway will reopen.

AVON, CT — A busy state roadway in Avon was closed Monday afternoon after a tree fell down into utility lines, according to the state Department of Transportation.

According to the DOT, Route 167 was closed between Scoville Road and Hollister Drive "due to a tree down in wires."

The incident was first reported at 1:49 p.m. and it is "unknown" when the roadway will reopen.
