Avon Storefronts To 'Shine' For The Holidays
The third annual 'Avon Shines' storefront holiday decorating contest is ongoing, with the community set to decide the contest winner.
AVON, CT — Avon officials are urging local store owners to decorate their storefronts for the holidays and participate in the Avon Town Council's third annual "Avon Shines" contest.
The council is asking business owners to email them a notice of their participation, ensuring they will be on a special map to be distributed by the town for window shoppers to enjoy.
They have until Dec. 20 to be put on the map.

"Avon businesses will be bringing the holiday spirit throughout the month of December," wrote the Avon Town Council
" A map with all participating businesses will be shared so residents can check out their efforts and cast their vote for the best holiday decorations."

The town will then issue a trophy later this holiday season to the winner, as chosen by the community.
The North House was the Avon Shines 2024 trophy winner.
Participants must email the council at towncouncil@avonct.gov to be included in the contest.
