Avon Town Council Decides Fate of Country Club Road Sidewalk Proposal

The Avon Town Council has decided against putting a sidewalk on Country Club Road, reports the Hartford Courant.

The council decided that even with help from private fundraising, it would be too difficult and expensive to do the project.

The proposed sidewalk, which was originally proposed by a resident and the council has been considering for a year, would have gone from the intersection with West Avon Road west to Stagecoach Road.

Council members said they see the benefit of having the sidewalk on Country Club Road but the difficulty and cost is not worth it.
