Avon's Pet Pantry To Close Temporarily

Those needing the pantry's services are asked to call ahead to make special arrangements if needed.

AVON, CT — The town's community pet food pantry for pet owners experiencing economic hardship will be closed for the month of August.

As a result, those who need the pantry's services are asked to notify volunteer staff there before July 25 so Avon's animal control department can make arrangements to help with food/supplies prior.

The pantry opened in November 2023.

Just like a community food pantry helps those struggling economically with people's food, the pet pantry is aimed at helping pet owners feed their beloved animals during tough economic times.

The pantry, which even offers curbside service, provides all sorts of food options for pet owners in need, and it relies on donations to get the job done.

As a result, donations — either financial or in food — are always welcome.
