Avon's Teachers Are Off To Play The Wizards

AVON, CT — Watching the Avon School System's roster of elementary school teachers play basketball is probably entertaining enough.

But seeing them play against a world-famous comedy basketball team, the Harlem Wizards, makes what is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, that much more appealing.

The Wizards will be playing a group of elementary school teachers on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Avon High School (Doors open at 6 p.m.)

While the outcome of "the game" is probably not in doubt (Miracles can happen, though), what will go on during the event is uncertain.

If folks want to see what will happen, they can order their tickets online for the charity benefit.

The game's proceeds will raise money for Avon Dollars for Scholars, which provides scholarship money for qualifying students from Avon.
