Gardening Tips Available At Avon Library Event
The Avon Free Public Library on Tuesday, May 7, is hosting a state gardening expert who will offer planting tips for gardening season.

AVON, CT — With Mother's Day weekend also serving as an unofficial threshold for New Englanders to get their plants in the grant, the local library has a program next week to help.
The Avon Free Public Library is hosting a gardening expert on Tuesday, May 7, who will give visitors spring and summer gardening tips. The free program is at 2 p.m. at the library, 281 Country Club Road.

The presentation will discuss and answer common questions about general care, pruning, water management, fertilizing, and disease control in lawns, flower gardens, and vegetable gardens.
Hosting the event is Yonghao Li, a plant pathologist who leads the Plant Disease Information Office at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven.

He has more than 30 years of experience in gardening, disease diagnostics, and pest management.
