Getting Dog Licenses In Avon, What You Need To Know
June is dog license month, and Avon officials recently issued information for dog owners about how to comply with the law.

AVON, CT — It's June, which means it's time to get your dogs licensed.
"If your dog is over six months of age, the State of Connecticut requires that you license your dog," wrote the Town of Avon in a notice recently.

Dog licenses are issued throughout the year, but renewal of current licenses takes place during the month of June.
To obtain a dog license, mail or bring in paperwork from your veterinarian showing the dog's information, which includes a valid rabies vaccination with current expiration date and proof of spay or neuter.

Dog licenses are processed out of the Avon Town Clerk's Office, 600 W. Main St., Avon.
Current licensing fees are as follows:
• Spayed or neutered — $8 (with proof of altering/rabies certificate)
• Not spayed or neutered — $19 ( with rabies certificate)
• Penalty for late registration after June is $1 per month per dog
