GoFundMe Effort Launched In Memory Of Plainville Teen
Lucas Brewer, 15, is one of two teens who died while swimming in the Farmington River last week.
PLAINVILLE, CT — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help pay the funeral costs for Lucas Brewer, one of two Plainville teens who died while swimming last week in the Farmington River in Avon.
The bodies of Brewer, 15, and Anthony Nagore, 17, were found Monday just north of the Route 4 bridge over Route 179, approximately a mile from where the two are believed to have entered the river, according to authorities.
Emergency personnel began searching for the two on Thursday, and were hampered at various times due to inclement weather and dangerously high water levels in the river.

As of Tuesday afternoon, just hours after its creation, the GoFundMe page had generated more than $12,300, well beyond its goal of $10,000.
"He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend," wrote Holli Southall, who organized the effort. "He was only 15 years old. No parent should ever have to bury their child and this is something that most people do not prepare for."
