The Avon Free Public Library is hosting a free virtual meditation program on Thursday, March 6.

AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library presents this week is hosting "Meditation for Stress Relief" on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m.

The library is hosting Ankaj Goel, a long-time meditator, for a free, virtual event this week.

Goal is expected to discuss the effect of meditation to reduce stress-related responses, improve concentration, and enhance clarity of thought and mental equilibrium.

He will also present a simple, time-tested, effective meditation technique. There will be a short meditation sitting as well.

Goel is a director of quality assurance in the healthcare industry and has many years of experience in problem solving and quality assurance.

But he has also been meditating for over 15 years and, for the past 10 years, he has been conducting meditation workshops where he discusses the benefits of meditation and how to incorporate this practice into one’s daily routine.
