Key Avon Intersection To Be Closed, What You Need To Know

AVON, CT — Road work at a key intersection in town will result in that intersection's closure for much of next week.

The Town of Avon said the work is at the intersection of Old Farms Road and Thompson Road, with earth moving already underway.

However, starting Monday, April 28, through Friday, May 2, the intersection will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., officials said.

This is so the contractor can install drainage piping and structures across the roadway and prepare the area for new pavement.

Old Farms Road will be closed west of the intersection at Tillotson Road and south of the new roundabout.

Thompson Road will be closed at the intersection during the times listed above.
