Learn The Art Of 'Bonsai' At Special Avon Event
The Garden Club of Avon is hosting a special luncheon on Monday, Oct. 21, on ow to grow and maintain bonsai trees.

AVON, CT — The Garden Club of Avon Monday is hosting a unique program on how to grow and take care of a special plant from the Far East.
The club is hosting two representatives of the Bonsai Society of Greater Hartford— Vinnie Tanner and Joe Matson —for a program on this unique, Japanese tree.
They will discuss "bonsai," which is the Japanese art of growing small trees in containers, according to the club.

It will take place on Monday, Oct. 21, at The Church of St. Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon, at noon, when a light lunch will be served before the talk.
"Bonsai is an amazing hobby that blends horticulture and design to create artistic, stylized images of nature in miniature," wrote the club in an announcement.
