Learn About Bugs With The Avon Garden Club

The Garden Club of Avon is hosting a bug-theme luncheon on Monday called 'Insects & Their Amazingosity!'

AVON, CT — A program early next week from the Garden Club of Avon may be about bugs, but it won't bug participants.

The club is hosting a forum called "Insects & Their Amazingosity!" and it will take place at the Church of St. Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon, at noon.

The event will feature a light lunch to start and then the club's guest speaker, author/illustrator/naturalist John Himmelman.

According to the club, Himmelman — co-founder and president of the Connecticut Butterfly Association — will discuss the symbiotic relationship between bugs and gardens.

He will also discuss "the remarkable adaptions" insects have made to survive, including dragonflies, bees, butterflies and beetles.
