AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library is hosting a special in-person event next week as part of the ongoing Avon America 250 slate of events.

The library on Tuesday, Dec. 2, is hosting "Founding Mothers: Women of the American Revolution" at 7 p.m. in the Avon Library Community Room, 281 Country Club Road. The event is free.

The speaker will be Amanda Goodheart Parks, a historian, educator, and public speaker with over 15 years of experience bringing the past to life for people of all ages.

She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and she serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Salve Regina University History Department.

The event, sponsored by the Friends of the Avon Library, is free, but guests are asked to register so organizers can set the community room up with appropriate seating.
