Local Golfer Aims for 200 Holes and $200,000 in Support of Families in Need
Don't Call it a Comeback: Cuddeback Encurande Challenge Launches in Support of Gifts of Love
Avon, CT — After raising more than $150,000 over the past five years for local nonprofit Gifts of Love, one determined golfer is upping the ante in 2025 — with a goal of playing 200 holes of golf in a single day and raising an additional $50,000 by July 28 to hit a lifetime fundraising total of $200,000.
“Last year was about adversity,” said Brian Cuddeback, founder of the annual Cuddeback Endurance Challenge. “I struggled through every hole with a swing flaw that just wouldn’t quit. But that challenge was nothing compared to what the families supported by Gifts of Love face every single day.”
Despite the on-course struggles, 2024’s challenge brought in the most donations yet. And this year, it’s about redemption — and making an even bigger impact.

The Cuddeback Challenge raises funds for Gifts of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing, and basic needs assistance to individuals and families in the Greater Hartford area. 100% of donations go directly to the organization, helping neighbors get back on their feet during times of crisis.
“There’s nothing better than seeing this community come together year after year to help others. We believe, just like Gifts of Love does, that Neighbors Helping Neighbors builds a stronger community. And I know we can hit this $200,000 milestone together.”
