Meditate Cares Away With Avon Library Program

The Avon Free Public Library is hosting a free virtual meditation program on Thursday, March 28.

AVON, CT — Community members are invited this week to turn on their electronic devices and tune out the stresses of everyday life.

The Avon Free Public Library this week is presenting a special program called "Reducing Stress Through Meditation" on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

Participants will be able to join Ajili Hodari, a longtime meditator, as he discusses the extraordinary effect of meditation.

"It can reduce stress-related responses, improve concentration, enhance clarity of thought and mental equilibrium," reads an event announcement.

Hodari will also present a simple, yet powerful time-tested meditation technique that will be explained and practiced during the session.

He attended Michigan State University as a scholar athlete where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in advertising.

After a career in the printing and publishing industry in the San Francisco Bay area, he received his law degree from the University of Iowa in 1990.

He began a law practice in Columbus, Ohio, and, now, practices in Seattle, Wash., managing his firm, Hodari Law Office.

Hodari has spoken about all aspects of meditation in numerous venues throughout the country.
