Only One Week Left In Avon America 250 Fundraising Campaign

AVON, CT — The Avon Historical Society is reminding folks that time is running out to purchase a "community shopping bag" at the local Big Y to help the town's America 250 efforts.

The Avon Historical Society has been selected as a Big Y Community Bag Program beneficiary for July 2025.

That offer ends on Thursday, July 31, giving folks about a week left in the program.

Funding will be earmarked for the expenses of the Avon’s America 250 Commemoration during 2026.

The Big Y Community Bag Program, which launched in January 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support.

The Avon Historical Society was selected as the July 2025 beneficiary of the program for the Big Y located at 255 W. Main St. (Route 44), Avon.

The society will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during July.
