Regional Ballet Company's Newest Season Starts This Weekend
The Avon-based New England Ballet Theatre will host a show in West Hartford this weekend, followed by a holiday performance in Hartford.

AVON, CT — Lovers of the arts in general and ballet in particular are invited to support a regional ballet company located in the heart of central Connecticut.
The nonprofit, Avon-based New England Ballet Theatre has announced its 2025-26 season, with tickets on sale for all shows, which start this weekend..

"NEBT’s upcoming season blends timeless stories with fresh perspectives, presenting bold new works, honoring ballet history, and celebrating local heritage," the organization wrote.
"We’re honoring the past, investing in emerging voices, and bringing ballet to more people, whether on stage, in schools, or in the community,” said NEBT Artistic & Executive Director Rachael Gnatowski.

The season's highlights are:
• "Firebird" — Oct. 11–12 | Hoffman Auditorium at the University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford.
• "The Fantastic Toyshop" — Dec. 5–7 | Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, 359 Washington St., Hartford.
• "Ballet Unbound" — March 2026 | venue not finalized, The Ailey Citigroup Theater (NYC)
"NEBT’s annual New York City performance returns with an expanded vision," wrote the organization. "For the first time, the company’s performance ensemble from the School of NEBT will share the stage, giving students the opportunity to perform alongside professionals in one of the world’s leading dance venues."
• "The Little Mermaid" — Spring 2026 | Venue TBA
"The season concludes with an original full-length adaptation of The Little Mermaid, a sweeping
and emotional journey beneath the waves, brought to life through NEBT’s signature blend of
classical technique and theatrical storytelling," wrote the NEBT.
"This production will feature students from The School of NEBT, as well as students selected from our open audition."
