AVON, CT — Local police are investigating a two-vehicle accident Monday evening that resulted in the roadway being closed for several hours through Tuesday morning.According to the Avon Police Department, officers were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at near 450 Lovely St. (Route 177) at about 7:22 p.m. Monday.When officers arrived, they saw one vehicle was flipped on its roof after slamming into a utility pole at the base, police said Tuesday morning.Fortunately, police said, no serious injuries were reported from the accident despite the serious nature of it.Police said crews from Eversource Energy responded to replace and/or repair the damaged pole.
