The Avon Free Public Library is hosting a free virtual meditation workshop on Thursday, July 17.

AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library next week is hosting a special, virtual event that should calm the nerves and soothe the soul.

The program is called "Relax Your Mind and Body Through Meditation," and it will take place on Thursday, July 17, at 7 p.m.

"Being relaxed can help ease stress and tension," wrote the library. "It can also relieve anxiety, depression, and sleep problems.

Participants will be able to join meditation expert Bruce Faithwick for this informative workshop.

There will even be a short meditation sitting to try this out firsthand.

Faithwick is a business consultant in the software industry and currently provides workshops and training to groups in the California area, where he connects meditation and self-development to important aspects of our lives.

He has been meditating for over 40 years.
