Special Avon Tour To Highlight Native, Invasive Plant Species

The event, hosted by the Avon Clean Energy Commission, will be on Wednesday morning at one of Avon's recreation areas.

AVON, CT — The Avon Clean Energy Commission is hosting a special event Wednesday morning to help folks recognize the difference between native and non-native plants.

The commission's "Invasive & Native Plant Tour" will take place Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sycamore Hills Recreation Area, 635 West Avon Road.

There, guests will be able to "learn, connect, and act" regarding invasive plant species in the wild courtesy of commission interns who will guide the event.
