Special Film Screening On Popular Avon Archeological History Series Is This Weekend
The history lecture series took place in Avon from 2021-24.
AVON, CT — Folks are invited to come to the Avon Senior Center this Sunday, Oct. 19, to watch a special film screening of a highlight reel of a popular archaeological series on local history.
A partnership of the Avon Historical Society, Avon Free Public Library, and Avon Senior Center, “Unearthing History: The Discovery of a 12,500-year-old Paleo-Indian Site along the Farmington River in Avon, CT”had a four-year run from 2021-24 of informative lectures on local history and archaeology.
Sunday's event will be at 2 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road. Admission is free.

The webinar series was inspired by the 2019 discovery of a Paleo-Indian site along the Farmington River in Avon.
The regular series featured lectures by prominent academics and experts about the ancient past locally.
