'Structurally Deficient' Bridge Topic Of Special Avon Meeting
The state Department of Transportation is hosting a virtual forum Monday, March 31, regarding a Route 10 bridge it wants to replace.

AVON, CT — A bridge in Avon has structural deficiencies and the state Department of Transportation wants to explain the situation to those interested and get input.
At 7 p.m. on Monday, March 31, the DOT is hosting a virtual public information meeting to let folks know about a problem with a bridge with no name over a stream with no name on Route 10.
That's because, according to the DOT, "State Bridge No. 02112" has "structural deficiencies" and the state wants to fix the problem.

Before the $3.2 million project can begin, the DOT needs to secure funds, acquire right-of-way permission, and secure myriad permits.
DOT officials said 80 percent of the $3.2 million would come from the federal government.
Part of the process, however, includes public input both in writing and at Monday's forum.
The meeting will be livestreamed on the DOT's YouTube channel, which is available at this link.
