The Garden Club of Avon on Monday, March 11, is hosting a noted Connecticut garden expert for a special lunch program.
AVON, CT — The local garden club is hosting a prominent Connecticut gardener next week for a special lunch program that ties gardening with sustainability.
The Garden Club of Avon on Monday, March 11, is presenting East Haddam garden store owner/author/horticulturalist Nancy Ballek Mackinnon for a special program at the Church of St. Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon.
The event starts at noon and it also includes lunch, with a $15 fee payable at the door.

Her program is entitled "10 Steps in the Garden Toward a Sustainable World."
Mackinnon is the author of "The Gardener's Book of Charts, Tables and Lists: A Complete Gardening Guide" and also owns the Balleks Garden Center in East Haddam.
