Take A Meditation Journey At Virtual Avon Library Program

The free, virtual program hosted by an expert on meditation will take place on Thursday, May 22.

AVON, CT — Folks looking for a peaceful journey that doesn't require too much travel time are invited to learn about meditation at a special Avon Free Public Library virtual event this Thursday.

Folks are invited to join John Bednarik, a long-time meditator, for a"deep and engaging meditation workshop."

It will take place virtually on Thursday, May 22, at 7 p.m.

Bednarik lectures regularly on the benefits of meditation.

"During this workshop, he will talk about the journey of finding lasting peace, happiness and a greater sense of well-being," wrote the library in an announcement.

He will share a simple technique of spiritual meditation (explained and practiced during the session) that can help people achieve a lasting state of peace and happiness.

Bednarik is a recently retired assistant area director at the Long Island Area OSHA office in Westbury, N.Y.

He is certified as an occupational safety and health technologist.

Bednarik is also an assistant director of a children’s meditation camp in Virginia.

"Sharing his time between Long Island and Florida, John has discovered a path to greater health, happiness, and peace," wrote the library.

"He has been practicing meditation for over 30 years, and will introduce you to basic meditation techniques that can improve the quality of everyday life, by reducing stress, improving health, and looking at life…. possibly in a different way."
