Thanksgiving Weekend In Avon: What You Need To Know
The town has announced its openings/closings for the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend, which starts Thursday, Nov. 27.
AVON, CT —Local officials recently announced the Thanksgiving weekend impacts on Avon town and school operations.
They are:
• For Wednesday, Nov. 26, the Avon Free Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Avon Town Offices will be open regular hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

• For Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, town offices, public works, the Avon Senior Center, the landfill, and the library will be closed.
• For Saturday, Nov. 29, the landfill will be open regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library will be open regular hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Avon Public Schools are closed Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 28, for Thanksgiving break. Normal classes resume Monday, Dec. 1.
