WEATHER UPDATE: Severe Weather Forecast For Tuesday

The National Weather Service has already issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the southern half of the state.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the southern half of Connecticut for Tuesday and the chance for some severe weather.

The advisory impacts Fairfield, New Haven, New London, and Middlesex counties.

The National Weather Service writes, “Severe thunderstorm development is possible Tuesday afternoon and evening as a cold front tracks through the region. Damaging wind and large hail will be the primary threat.”

While no advisory has been issued as of now for Hartford and Tolland counties, the National Weather Service predicts there is a 60 percent chance of stormy weather including severe storms, hail, and damaging winds, mainly between 3-7 p.m. Tuesday. Up to a half-inch of rain is possible there.

Enjoy today’s weather, which will be hot but sunny with temps in the mid to high 80s across all of Connecticut.

After Tuesday’s stormy weather, the rest of the work week looks pretty good.

On Wednesday we can expect sunny skies and temps around 80 degrees, more sun on Thursday, some showers at night, and more showers possible on Friday.
