Voters on Dec. 14, 2022 approved a $5.5 million appropriation for the first phase of the Old Farms Road reconfiguration project, which would widen and shift portions of the heavily traveled roadway and, presumably, improve safety and cut down on accidents.
Recently, Town of Avon Engineering Department updated the public on how work is progressing:
Old Farms Road - Phase I (North/South Section)
The contractor, Spazzarini Construction, has begun work to remove selective vegetation and install erosion and sediment control systems.

It plans to work through the winter months, weather dependent, and its goal is to complete the project before the maximum deadline of December 2025.
Old Farms Road - Phase II (East/West Section)
The design consultant, WMC Engineers, has been working on a concept design for the reconstruction of this phase of the project.
To date, they have performed a field survey and wetlands delineation and have begun to look at design alternatives.
The town plans to conduct a public information meeting in December or January and, once a date is confirmed it will be posted on the town's website and Facebook page.
Interested residents are encouraged to attend.
