2 Berlin Park Ponds Slated To Receive Pesticide Treatments Wednesday
The applications will impact how the ponds can be utilized for two days this week.
BERLIN, CT — Two public ponds at Berlin parks will receive pesticide treatments on Wednesday, Sept. 10, requiring folks to avoid certain uses of the water.
According to the Town of Berlin, the pesticide Imazamox will be applied by a contractor working at Railroad Pond Park on Kensington Road and Paper Goods Pond Park at Hart and Harris streets.
Both projects have been approved by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The contractor doing the work is Water & Wetland out of South Grafton, Mass.
According to notices posted by the town, there are no restrictions on boating, fishing, or swimming, as well as using the water for livestock.

There are restrictions through Thursday, Sept. 11, however, for direct drinking or cooking, using the water for landscaping and watering lawns, and watering food crops.
