• Berlin Library Has Winter Reading Challenge For Kids (patch.com) — Families in Berlin can dive into the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library’s Whisker Wonderland Kids’ Winter Reading Challenge, running from Dec. 15 through Jan. 10. Children track 20-minute reading sessions to move mouse characters along a path in the Berlin library, earning prizes and a chance at a raffle while exploring a playful winter-themed adventure.
   

• From Assistant To CEO, New Foundation Leader Has Come A Long Way (patch.com) — Berlin residents are served by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, which has just promoted longtime staffer Kaylah Milligan to president and CEO starting Jan. 1. Milligan, who began as an administrative assistant, will guide the foundation’s grants and endowment that support Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, and Southington nonprofits. Her focus is on accessible, community-driven philanthropy.
