Folks should also keep all leaf bags well away from their automated trash containers.
In addition, grass clippings, yard waste, and twigs cannot be mixed with leaves.
Residents also cannot rake leaves into the gutter, as this is a violation of the Berlin anti-litter ordinance and is subject to a fine.
Those who wish to dispose of leaves on their own may bring them to the drop-off area at 19
Town Farm Lane (off Massirio Drive), Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3p.m.
They can also be dropped off on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, and extended Saturday hours Nov. (1,8,15,22, and 29) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Residents should view the town’s website for Saturday hours throughout the winter.
All bags and containers must be emptied and removed from the drop-off area inside the
Transfer Station (19 Town Farm Lane).
The Transfer Station will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving — Thursday, Nov. 27, and
Friday, Nov. 28.
