Crash Cleared On Route 9 In Berlin, Road Work Slows Traffic: UPDATE

The accident happened early Thursday morning, with work crews having to make repairs to the roadway area at the scene.

BERLIN,CT — A section of Route 9 in Berlin was closed after an early morning crash Thursday, according to the state Department of Transportation, but the crash is now cleared.

While the accident has been cleared, traffic was still slowed after emergency road repairs were deemed necessary, according to the DOT

The DOT reports the crash was on Route 9 South at the Exit 31 on-ramp, resulting in the closure of that on-ramp.

The crash was first reported at 5:41 a.m. and it was no longer listed on the DOT's incident report.

However, the DOT reports that as of 7:15 a.m., "emergency road work" in that area has closed the right shoulder there pending completion of the repairs.
