Accident Causes Traffic Mess In Berlin Thursday: Police: UPDATE

A busy roadway is closed and several traffic lights in the area are not working.

BERLIN, CT — A local roadway is closed as police investigate a vehicle accident in Berlin that is also impacting traffic lights.

At about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, The Berlin Police Department said Christian Lane between Porter Pass and the Route 9 ramps is closed.

According to the department, the situation is a vehicle accident in which utility wires were taken down.

"All traffic will be directed onto Route 9 northbound so please avoid the area," wrote the BPD in an alert.

Also, due to the incident, numerous traffic lights are out in the area on Route 5, Farmington Avenue, and Christian Lane.

"Temporary stop signs have been placed at the intersections. Please obey the stop signs and take care when driving through the area," wrote the BPD.
